History of the hall…..
The original village hall was formerly the Women's Institute and was handed over to the village in 1962. It was a wooden construction on a small site in upper Holywell Road. By the early 1970's it became clear that there was a need for a new hall.
After much fund-raising and applications for grants the village hall committee together with the local doctors purchased the present site on Quarry Ground to provide a hall and surgery. 1980 saw the official opening of what was to be named: The Village Hall Edington, as it was to be used by all the central Polden Villages in recognition of the help received from Catcott and Chilton Polden villagers.
Since then there have been a number of extensions to the hall, with the latest changes having just being added. This extension included a new Entrance, Foyer, Lounge Bar area and Scene Doc.
